Matt developed an interest in engineering at an early age.“I loved to do projects with my dad. We would start with an idea, draw up plans, and build it.” That interest continued through high school where Matt was nominated for the Engineering State program at USU by his physics teacher. After receiving his bachelor’s degree with a minor in Japanese language, he was awarded a fellowship to the University of Wyoming where he completed his master’s degree. Since joining ARW in 2000, Matt has completed over 140 evaluations and upgrades to existing structures and considers this his area of expertise. He was part of a post-earthquake team that evaluated several buildings in Japan after the 2011 earthquake.
Matt still enjoys doing projects at home with his kids. He is an expert in all things Star Wars and enjoys golfing when he finds time.
