Project Engineer

Jared W. McRory

When Jared was little, his dad taught him about golf balls.  Back in the early days (not dinosaur early, but probably close), somebody had the great idea to start making golf balls from Gutta-Percha.  Gutta-Percha, according to Jared’s dad, is a sort of gummy, sap-like substance from an exotic tree that would create a rubber-like golf ball.  These early adopters of golf noticed that as the Gutta-Percha ball got dinged up, it had a tendency to fly straighter.  Jared’s dad said this aerodynamic effect is why modern golf balls have dimples.  Jared’s dad also used it as a moment to teach that life is tough and will leave its mark on us from time to time but that these moments and dings only serve to build us up and make us “fly straighter”.  The interesting thing about this story is that despite modern aerodynamic research and sophisticated golf ball technology, Jared still cannot hit a fairway.

Jared has been at ARW since 2020 and has enjoyed learning from the industry’s brightest.  In his free time, Jared can be found with his wife Tiffany and his three beautiful daughters.  Jared enjoys watching the Jazz almost approach greatness each year, but he is always mentally prepared for a bit of heartbreak.  Below is a list of 3 things Jared enjoys and 3 things he is not very fond of.

Please don’t hesitate to ask which of these, Jared does or does not enjoy.
