Bleed Purple
The WSU North End Zone building is a unique two-story steel and masonry structure. The building houses the Weber State University Football team locker room, training facilities, coaches offices, team meeting rooms and additional support services. The structure is unique in that it occurs within feet of the Wasatch Fault. In fact, the floor plan was altered and the second floor cantilevers over a branch of the fault, which was discovered through trenching. The building is also semi-circular in shape, following the radius of the running track. This shape created horizontal plan irregularities in the lateral force resisting system that had to be addressed in accordance with the International Building Code.
